Special Education Instructional Health Assistant ) - ROC/ATC
Location:
Riverview Opportunity Center, Shepherdsville, Kentucky.
Candidate will provide assistance for students with special needs, particularly students with learning behavior disabilities. Candidate will need to attend training for the position and meet all qualifications necessary to be hired for the instructional assistant role.
Responsibilities- Proficient in leading small group reading interventions.
- Organized to ensure proper monitoring and reporting of student progress.

- Ability to follow directions of principal and instructional coach.
- Willingness to support PBIS expectations.
Must meet one of the following:
- 48 college semester hours.
- Associate's Degree.
- High school diploma plus a passing score on the Para educator Assessment Exam.
Documentation:
Provide proof of educational requirements to HR upon recommendation for hire.
Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
Contract & CompensationHours: 6.5 hours per day (plus a 30‑minute unpaid lunch).
Contract Length: 183 days per year (170 instructional days, 4 holidays, 7 planning days, 2 extended days).
Contract Adjustments: Days prorated based on start date.
Employment Status: Full‑time with benefits.
Employment Type: 10‑month employee on the classified salary schedule.
Pay Scale: Step 0: $16.46 per hour;
Step 10: $20.26 per hour.
Previous experience working with students is strongly desired.
Experience Credit: New employees may transfer up to 10 years of comparable, full‑time, verified experience. The employee is responsible for submitting the BCPS Verification of Experience form to previous employers.
