Assistant Principal
The Assistant Principal serves as an instructional leader, culture builder, and student advocate. This individual will work collaboratively with the Principal, teachers, and staff to support school operations, student achievement, and a positive school culture.
Instructional Leadership & Student Learning- Support high-quality instruction aligned with Kentucky Academic Standards (KAS) and district initiatives.
- Lead PLC processes alongside the Principal, ensuring data-driven decision-making and student growth.
- Support Project-Based Learning (PBL) and innovative instructional practices.
- Provide constructive feedback to teachers through classroom walkthroughs and observations.
- Assist with MTSS and intervention efforts, ensuring all students receive the support they need.
- Foster a positive school culture by implementing proactive behavior supports (PBIS, SEL, etc.).
- Work closely with teachers and families to address student needs, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
- Support the principal with student discipline using restorative and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Serve as a key leader in attendance initiatives, helping reduce chronic absenteeism.
- Build strong relationships with teachers, staff, students, and families.
- Support teacher professional growth, coaching, and mentoring.
- Support the principal with school events, community partnerships, and student leadership opportunities.
- Help manage volunteer programs, working alongside the Volunteer Coordinator.
- Kentucky Administration Certification
- Experience as a teacher
- Experience as an instructional coach, assistant principal, or school leader (minimum 3 years preferred)
- Strong understanding of PLC practices, MTSS, PBL, and evidence-based instruction
- Effective communicator, relationship-builder, and problem-solver
- Ability to lead with empathy, vision, and a student-centered approach
This position is for the school year. Salary based on board approved salary schedule for the school year.
