Instructional Assistant Position at Cedar Grove Elementary School
Join us for the school year! Interested applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Bullitt County Public Schools is requesting a waiver to fill this position before the standard 15-day posting period to ensure we are fully staffed for the upcoming school year.
Cedar Grove Elementary School is searching for a highly motivated and positive team member to assist a certified teacher in providing instruction to groups of students, monitor and report student progress, and enhance overall student performance. Experience working with students, intervention systems, and small groups are strongly desired.
This position will provide assistance for students with special needs. Candidate must be able to attend training for the position. Candidates must meet all qualifications necessary to be hired for the position as instructional assistant.

Position Details
Hours:
6.5 hours per day (plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch)
Contract Length: 183 days per year
- 170 student instructional days
- 4 holidays
- 7 planning days
- 2 extended days
Contract Adjustments:
Contracted days will be prorated based on the start date
Employment Status:
Full-time with benefits
Employment Type:
10-month employee on the classified salary schedule.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education:
Must meet one of the following: - 48 college semester hours
- An Associate's Degree OR
- High school diploma plus a passing score on the Para educator Assessment Exam.
- Documentation:
Candidates must provide proof of educational requirements to HR upon recommendation for hire.
Compensation & Experience Credit

Step 0: $16.46
Step 10: $20.26
We value experience! Previous experience working with students, intervention systems, and small-group instruction is strongly desired.
- Experience Credit:
New employees may transfer up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience. - Note:
It is the employee's responsibility to submit the BCPS Verification of Experience form to previous employers.
Payroll
Note:
While this is an hourly position, the salary is distributed via a year-long contract over 10 months. You will receive 4 paychecks at the end of June.
Salary Formula:
Hours per day × Hourly rate = Daily rate. Daily rate × Contracted days = Annual salary. Annual salary ÷ Remaining pay periods = Gross biweekly pay
