Role Summary

The Staff Remanufacturing Engineer, Drive Unit & Dyno (EOLT) bridges process, manufacturing, and test engineering with day‑to‑day technical operations at Rivian’s remanufacturing facility in Shepherdsville, KY.

This role owns the performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of the Drive Unit End‑of‑Line Test (EOLT) / dyno system and associated Remanufacturing processes used to validate and release remanufactured drive units across current and future vehicle programs. Leveraging wide-ranging experience, you will use professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.

You will ensure the station and its connected processes are safe, repeatable, and capable of meeting production demand, acting as the primary engineering owner for both test and manufacturing processes around DU EOLT/dyno. The Staff Remanufacturing Engineer, Drive Unit & Dyno will be expected to work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors, exercising judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

To achieve this, you will network with key contacts outside your own area of expertise, collaborating closely with NVH, Automation Controls, Factory Software, Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality, Data Analytics, and Operations.

The ideal candidate will exercise independent judgment and determine methods and procedures on new assignments. This person is highly organized, hands‑on with complex test equipment and production processes, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly.

This role is based on site daily at 687 Conestoga Parkway, Shepherdsville, Kentucky and will report to our Manager, Remanufacturing Dyno Engineering & Production.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary engineering owner for the Reman DU EOLT / dyno station, ensuring safe, reliable, and repeatable operation across all supported drive unit variants (FDU/RDU, multiple programs).
  • Lead structured troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, controls, software, and NVH‑related issues; drive to root cause and implement robust corrective and preventive actions.
  • Define, track, and improve key station and process KPIs (OEE, FPY, repeat test rates, downtime, scrap, rework, etc.) in partnership with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, and Data Analytics.
  • Develop and maintain standardized test procedures and acceptance criteria for each drive unit variant in collaboration with NVH, Design, Manufacturing, and Quality.
  • Support and, when needed, lead FAT, SAT, Gage R&R, and Final Acceptance activities for the EOLT station, including creation of test plans and analysis of results using statistical tools (e.g., Coefficient of Variation, Cpk, ANOVA‑based Gage R&R).
  • Ensure test limits and NVH metrics are clearly documented, version‑controlled, and implemented consistently within station software, tooling, and process documentation.
  • Act as the manufacturing/process engineer of record for the DU EOLT / dyno area and closely linked remanufacturing steps, ensuring processes are safe, capable, and production‑ready.
  • Define, document, and maintain standard work, work instructions, visual aids, and control plans for DU EOLT / dyno and associated remanufacturing processes.
  • Specify, validate, and maintain production tooling, fixtures, gauges, and material‑handling solutions for the dyno cell and adjacent processes, partnering with Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and suppliers as needed.
  • Lead or support process validation and…
