Job Overview
Learn the required procedures to operate an extruder/thermoformer as a Level 1 Operator. Duties include following the production schedule, ensuring all supplies needed for production runs are available, and performing other related duties as assigned.
Responsibilities- Operate the extruder/thermoformer according to production schedule.
- Verify availability of all required supplies before each production run.
- Maintain a clean and organized production line using 6S principles and good manufacturing practice.
- Operate material blender, weigh hopper, vacuum loading system, and dust control equipment.
- Perform quality checks (part weight, form, lid fit, sheet thickness, water leak test, CPET oven test) at specified intervals and record results.
- Adhere to all safety policies, wear required personal protective equipment, conduct lock‑out/tag‑out procedures, and perform confined‑space entry as trained.
- Complete any other related duties as assigned.
Safety
- Must wear all assigned safety personal protective equipment at all times.
- Adheres to all safety policies and reports incidents.
- Trained in lock‑out/tag‑out procedures.
- Trained in confined‑space entry.
- Trained in proper use of hand tools and power tools required for daily duties.
- Behavior‑Based Safety Champion.
- Keep the entire line neat and clean using 6S principles and good manufacturing practice.
- Set up and operate the material blender system to keep the production line supplied.
- Knowledgeable in startup and operation of material weigh hopper.
- Start up and operate the vacuum loading system, including vacuum control.
- Know the operation, function, and cleaning requirements of dust control.
- Ensure all product meets or exceeds minimum standards for quality of finished goods.
- Perform quality checks at specified intervals and record results on proper paperwork.
- Abide by all food safety regulations such as Good Manufacturing Practices and sliver control procedures.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Previous manufacturing experience is required.
- Standing for 95% of the day.
- Lifting no more than 40 lbs.
- Heat exposure while working on extruder die.
- Work in accordance with company policies regarding employment, safety, quality, product safety, regulatory compliance.
