Pinnacle Partners i is partnering with our esteemed client in Shepherdsville, KY to hire a fulltime Manufacturing Engineer. In this position, you'll own an entire automated assembly line and have a direct impact on production performance. This is a hands-on role (60% on the manufacturing floor) working with automation, robotics, vision systems, PLC-controlled equipment, and MES while leading Lean initiatives, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementing new equipment.

Duties include:
  • Own one complete automotive seat assembly line (3rd row seating)
  • Serve as the engineering champion for the assigned production line
  • Support production by troubleshooting equipment downtime and manufacturing issues
  • Lead cross-functional root cause investigations involving production, maintenance, quality, and operations
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing work instructions
  • Improve manufacturing processes through Lean and Kaizen activities
  • Design fixtures, tooling, and production layouts using AutoCAD (Fusion 360 for 3D when needed)
  • Support implementation of new equipment and process improvements
  • Perform time studies and improve production efficiency
  • Participate in PFMEA activities and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure OSHA, ergonomic, and safety compliance throughout production
  • Support automated assembly systems utilizing PLCs, sensors, vision systems, barcode scanners, and MES
  • Provide occasional after-hours support for major production interruptions
Required Skills (Must have):
  • 5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience
  • Automotive or high-volume assembly manufacturing experience
  • Experience supporting automated production lines
  • Strong troubleshooting skills on manufacturing equipment
  • Basic PLC knowledge (understanding inputs/outputs and machine interaction, not programming)
  • Experience with vision systems, sensors, lasers, or other error-proofing technology
  • Experience writing manufacturing work instructions
  • Knowledge of ergonomics and OSHA standards
  • Comfortable spending approximately 60% of the day on the manufacturing floor
  • Willingness to provide occasional after-hours production support
Preferred Skills (Nice to have):
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
