Position Summary
The Business Development Specialist joins a team of sales specialists selling Innoserv products, services and equipment to existing GFS customers and developing new business opportunities in the central Midwest of the United States. The role works with Divisional, Regional, and Regional Chain teams to execute Inno Serv sales and marketing plans to increase case volumes, sales, and margin. Responsibilities include identifying, screening, qualifying new business opportunities within the divisions and regions, and serving as a primary source of sales and margin growth for internal, external, and multi‑unit customers.
Whatyou will do
- Develop sales, marketing and merchandising relationships to identify new business opportunities and incorporate customer feedback into key decisions.
- Prepare customer proposals that demonstrate appropriate ROI of equipment and service costs.
- Provide consultative services and product expertise to GFS Product Specialists and Sales Teams.
- Develop and use training modules to plan and execute sales product training.
- Analyze problems and provide resolutions to Product Specialists, CDSs and customers on product‑related concerns.
- Collaborate with internal and external customer teams to achieve department sales and margin goals.
- Manage proprietary items in coordination with Regional Chain Accounts.
- Attend GFS leadership meetings to identify training and planning opportunities.
- Work with the Inno Serv team to identify target customers, introduce new products, and support bids.
- Serve as the primary contact for Regional and Divisional teams in planning and executing food shows, other related shows, and product training events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing or related field (preferred).
- Minimum five years of product, marketing or internal sales experience.
- Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Valid driver’s license.
