Overview
Production Manager (Finance) – Production Manager assists Plant Manager in directing production, distribution, and operations by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors:
Responsibilities- Implements manufacturing operations business plans to include all program requirements, employee safety, environmental compliance, image, labor hours, cycle, production costs and capital improvements.
- Ensures all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met.
- Obtains data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
- Provides guidance to the development of a manufacturing plan, including personnel requirements, material needs, subcontract requirements, facility needs, and tooling and equipment needs and maintenance requirements.
- Coordinates manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
- Performs administrative activities associated with the effective management of operations, including compiling, storing, and retrieving production data for reports.
- Assists with training and ensuring all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Develops employees to maximize their potential.
- Works with plant manager to establish budget, and reviews budget on ongoing basis.
- Participates and contributes to company safety program.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Management duties include supervision of exempt and/or non-exempt staff, including conducting performance evaluations and improvement plans, approving paid time-off (PTO), assigning or delegating work, providing on-the-job training, giving guidance to staff, taking disciplinary action, and interviewing candidates for open positions.
