About the opportunity
SWCA Environmental Consultants seeks a Logistics Assistant for our Sheridan, Wyoming operations and field staff. The candidate will provide administrative support to the Operations Administrator, manage travel logistics, coordinate documents, support project and business development activities, and may serve as office safety representative. This is a temporary, hourly, non‑exempt position starting in June 2026 through August 2026, based in the Sheridan office and reporting to the Operations Administrator.
Whatyou will accomplish
- Support project logistics for project/task managers, assist with project schedule preparation and updates, and coordinate and schedule staff for field work.
- Arrange travel, vehicles, equipment, and supplies for staff, collect safety forms and expense receipts, and assist staff with expense reporting.
- Support health and safety compliance tasks, including scheduling training courses and monthly reporting.
- Track office inventory, maintenance, organization, and billing of field data and safety equipment, including technology asset management (e.g., field tablets and GPS equipment).
- Manage and organize safety gear, secure travel forms and data, track expenditures and reconcile billing.
- Manage a fleet of company‑owned and rental vehicles and coordinate vehicle maintenance and repairs as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to support operations, perform administrative work, collaborate, and stay organized.
- Ability to travel to and work from the Sheridan office up to three days a week.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (preferably Version 2010).
- Associate degree or higher in business, administration, office technology, or a related field.
- Up to three months to one year of related administrative or logistical experience.
- Experience with additional software applications such as Adobe Acrobat Professional.
- Previous administrative assistant or related experience in a project‑based industry (e.g., environmental services, architecture & engineering, construction).
- Experience supporting and coordinating marketing‑related activities.
- Excellent communication, multi‑tasking, and interpersonal skills with the ability to represent the company professionally and meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Willingness to take on various tasks and learn new things to support the team as needs arise.
- Experience with scheduling and meeting coordination.
- Ability to write and communicate clearly.
- Strong customer‑service approach and problem‑solving ability.
An hourly rate of $18.73 to $23.54. Regular‑status employees are eligible for performance bonuses. SWCA offers a 100% employee stock ownership plan for retirement.
