Job Overview
Acierto LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Construction Quality Control Manager to lead quality assurance and control efforts on federal commercial and industrial construction projects. This role is critical to ensuring all work performed meets project plans, specifications, government regulations, and the approved Quality Control Plan.
The ideal candidate brings strong field experience, deep knowledge of building codes and engineering principles, and proven success working with general contractors-particularly on government or federally funded projects. Key Responsibilities
- Quality Control Leadership
- Implement and administer the Government-approved Quality Control Plan.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with project drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Promote a zero-defect culture and continuous quality improvement mindset.
- Assist in evaluating cost impacts and responsibility for non-conforming materials or installations.
- Field Oversight & Inspections
- Perform daily inspections and/or supervise Quality Control Inspectors.
- Monitor construction activities and testing procedures for compliance.
- Coordinate with third-party testing laboratories for required material testing.
- Maintain detailed inspection logs and quality documentation.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Coordinate material submittals and verify compliance with approved plans.
- Manage Material Delivery Verification Forms.
- Maintain accurate as-built drawings and material records.
- Document factory tests, manufacturer certifications, and compliance reports.
- Prepare and submit Daily Performance Reports summarizing quality control operations.
- Coordination & Training
- Attend and participate in pre-construction meetings to review quality expectations.
- Schedule quality-focused inspections to ensure proper sequencing and error-free installations.
- Facilitate training sessions for project personnel on construction standards and compliance.
- Work collaboratively with superintendents, subcontractors, and federal representatives.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in commercial or industrial construction with a general contractor.
- Experience as a Quality Control Engineer, Field Engineer, or Superintendent preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of building codes, construction standards, and engineering principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PDF).
- Ability to manage detailed documentation and compliance reporting.
- Must be able to pass a federal background check as part of the onboarding process, in compliance with applicable laws.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (highly desired), or equivalent field experience.
- OSHA 30 (within last 5 years)
- USACE EM385-1
- USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM)
- Red Cross CPR/First Aid
