SCSD2 is seeking a positive, professional and motivated teacher to join the SCSD2 junior high school team for the 2026/2027 school year.

STARTING SALARY: $54,000 - $87,600 (depending on experience and education).
- Bachelor's Degree
- Wyoming PTSB standard teaching certification and applicable endorsements in the necessary content area/assignment.
- Endorsement needed for this position: SSC - Social Studies Comprehensive 6‑12 or Social Studies 5‑8
Ensure student learning through quality planning, classroom management, instruction, and assessment. Implement the Professional Learning Communities framework with fidelity. Demonstrate professionalism at all times.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Planning and Preparation.
- Demonstrate knowledge of content and content‑related pedagogy, as well as prerequisite relationships.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the characteristics, skill levels, approaches to learning, and varied interests of the student age group that is being taught.
- Select appropriate instructional goals that reflect high expectations, clarity, diversity, and a balance of teaching/learning techniques and styles.
- Demonstrate awareness and use of available resources for both teachers and students.
- Plan structured learning activities that use a variety of materials and resources; a varied and appropriate grouping of students to engage them in meaningful learning.
- Assess student learning on a regular basis in a manner that is congruent to instructional goals and related to district and state standards.
- Collaborate with support services teams to develop and implement Individual Education Programs (IEPs).
- Create an environment of respect and rapport in the classroom between teacher and students and students and their peers.
- Establish a culture of learning by conveying the value of the content and the importance of pride in work and by maintaining high expectations for learning for all students.
- Manage productive and appropriate grouping of students in a classroom, where the use of materials and time allow for smooth transitions from one instructional activity to another.
- Establish clear standards of conduct, monitor students' behavior, and respond appropriately.
- Organize the physical space, furniture, and accessories in the classroom to accommodate safety and traffic flow and to maximize accessibility to learning resources.
- Implement and administer district and school policies and procedures governing student life and conduct.
- Provide instruction that teaches to district and state standards.
- Give directions and instructions that are clear to all students in both written and oral language that is grade appropriate.
- Use questioning techniques that provide for higher level thinking skills and discussion, with adequate wait time that allows for participation by all students.
- Engage students in learning by linking content to student experiences, allow activities for students' exploration of content, and use appropriate grouping for explorations.
- Provide accurate, constructive, quality feedback to students in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness by making adjustments to lessons to accommodate student needs, and use effective approaches to help students who are having difficulty in learning.
