Specific Role
We’re looking for a strong, detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to support EMIT Technologies’ mechanical design efforts as an individual contributor. In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing accurate, manufacturable mechanical designs that meet customer requirements and support efficient production. You’ll work hands‑on in Solid Works and collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Project Management to deliver reliable, cost‑effective solutions that contribute to EMIT’s long‑term growth.
KeyAccountabilities
- Develop and maintain mechanical designs, including Solid Works models, drawings, and related documentation
- Ensure designs meet performance, quality, safety, and manufacturability standards prior to release to production
- Apply and follow established CAD standards, part libraries, revision control practices, and documentation requirements
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure designs are practical, cost‑effective, and aligned with manufacturing capabilities
- Support Project Managers by providing design input, technical feedback, and timeline estimates throughout the project lifecycle
- Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback to improve design quality and consistency
- Work with internal sales teams or customers, when needed, to clarify requirements and design intent
- Identify and resolve design issues, including tolerance, fit, and manufacturability concerns
- Contribute to the improvement of design workflows, checklists, and design‑for‑manufacturability standards
- Drive continuous improvement by suggesting enhancements to design processes, tools, and documentation practices
- Explore and apply new Solid Works features, tools, or design methods to improve efficiency and quality
- Support new and existing product development efforts with innovative mechanical design solutions
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering field, or equivalent hands‑on experience
- Strong proficiency in Solid Works and mechanical design best practices
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, design‑for‑manufacturability, and revision control
- Experience working cross‑functionally with production, quality, supply chain, and project teams
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and standardization
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Clear communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
- Self‑motivated, solutions‑oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time
- Occasionally lift and move office materials or documents up to 25 lbs

Pay Range
$65,000 - $75,000 USD
