Seeking an entry-level civil engineer supporting roadway and highway design and transportation engineering projects.

THE ROLE

As an entry-level Civil Engineer in our Transportation group, you will support the design of highway and bridge projects for DOT clients. Working under a Professional Engineer, you'll gain hands‑on experience with roadway design, including plan development and construction documentation, while building the technical foundation needed to progress toward your PE license.

  • Assist with roadway and transportation design for highway and bridge projects.
  • Support plan production, including drawings, modeling, and design calculations.
  • Assist with quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
  • Help prepare construction documents and plan sets.
  • Contribute to problem‑solving with guidance from licensed engineers.
  • Support project teams through the coordination and completion of assigned tasks.
  • Assist with construction administration activities, including RFIs and submittals.
  • Participate in field observations and site visits as needed.
  • Develop technical skills and apply engineering principles to real‑world projects.

  • $70,000-$80,000 base pay (Compensation for this role is based on experience, qualifications, and geographic location)

YOUR STRENGTHS
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction engineering technology, or equivalent ABET‑accredited engineering program
  • 0–3+ years of experience with civil engineering design and construction projects
  • Engineer‑In‑Training (EIT) professional designation or willing to obtain soon after hire
  • Exposure to engineering design software such as AutoCAD or Civil3D
  • Technical mindset for troubleshooting and resolving complex problems
  • Strong communication, both verbal and written
  • Possess a valid driver's license and an insurable driving record is required for periodic travel
