About The Role Position Summary

The Portfolio Manager supports commercial credit portfolios and deposit relationships by partnering with Commercial Lending Officers throughout the lending and client relationship lifecycle. This role is responsible for financial analysis, loan structuring support, credit authorization preparation, portfolio monitoring, and ongoing credit risk management. The Portfolio Manager helps ensure assigned portfolios remain compliant with bank policies and regulatory requirements while maintaining current financial information and performing ongoing portfolio reviews.

Success in this role requires strong analytical, communication, and customer service skills, along with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. The Portfolio Manager works collaboratively with lending officers, clients, and internal partners to identify and meet credit needs, promote First Bank of Wyoming products and services, and support the bank's commitment to excellence. Essential Functions
  • Collect, analyze, and spread financial statements, credit applications, and related documentation to support loan underwriting, renewals, and portfolio management.
  • Evaluate borrower creditworthiness and provide recommendations regarding financial strength, credit risk, and loan structure.
  • Prepare and review credit memorandums, term sheets, proposal letters, commitment letters, and other lending documentation.
  • Review credit reports, title commitments, appraisals, environmental reports, and supporting due diligence to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor and manage assigned commercial loan portfolios through effective portfolio and pipeline management.
  • Conduct annual, semi-annual, and ongoing credit reviews to assess portfolio quality and borrower performance.
  • Attend Loan Committee meetings and provide feedback on credit structure and risk considerations as required.
  • Monitor compliance with loan agreements, financial reporting requirements, and covenant obligations.
  • Support quality control, internal audit, external audit, examination, and loan review activities.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance requirements, including documentation and reporting related to CRA, Adverse Action, Regulation B, and other applicable regulations.
  • Assist Commercial Lenders with problem loans, adverse credits, withdrawn requests, business overdrafts, and collection activities to minimize risk and loss.
  • Monitor individual credit relationships and identify emerging risks, recommending appropriate actions when necessary.
  • Maintain organized, accurate, and current digital credit files, including tax returns, financial statements, and related documentation.
  • Partner with Commercial Lenders on customer relationship management, business development activities, client meetings, and call preparation.
  • Collaborate with lenders, credit administration, and senior leadership on special projects, portfolio initiatives, process improvements, and professional development opportunities. Maintain a positive attitude and display courteous, respectful behavior toward customers and coworkers; represent the bank professionally through appearance, punctuality, confidentiality, and adaptability.
