Overview

The City of Sheridan Information Technology Division is currently recruiting for a reliable, self-motivated and customer-service driven individual to fill the position of IT Specialist
. This position performs technical duties in support of the city's information technology operations. The Final date to receive applications is June 9th, 2026.

• Sets up and installs computers and related hardware for city departments.
• Creates and maintains documentation on computer software and hardware setups.
• Assists with the installation and updating of software.
• Assists in the maintenance and updating of computer hardware.
• Assists in the training of city personnel in the use of computer hardware and software.
• Troubleshoots and corrects any hardware or software problems on city computers, networks and peripheral devices.
• Remains informed of changing industry standards and best practices.
• Performs related duties.

• Knowledge of software installation and maintenance.
• Knowledge of basic hardware installation techniques.
• Knowledge of the installation, maintenance and repair of a variety of peripheral devices.

• The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects and distinguishes between shades of color.
• The work is typically performed in an office.
