Job Title

The role involves providing expert, evidence-based education to staff, including educational instruction and training for staff in clinical and outpatient units.

Major duties and responsibilities include:

• Providing expert, evidence-based education to staff.
• Providing educational instruction and training for staff in clinical and outpatient units.
• Understanding instructional design, implementation, and application related to education and training.
• Performing learning needs assessments and developing educational training for clinical staff within the organization.
• Assisting with orientation of new employees, evaluation of their progress in the orientation process, and development and implementation of a learning plan for improving identified deficiencies.
• Serving as a trainer and consultant for Resuscitation Education Initiative (Redi) Program including certification as Basic Life Support (BLS) instructor.
• Monitoring and tracking BLS/Advanced Life Support (ALS) compliance within the organization.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary team to support and evaluate responses to emergency responses in the facility to include BLS and ALS.
• Organizing, participating, and evaluating mock codes.
• Supporting nurse residency programs including the development of curriculum utilizing strategic learning methodologies such as simulation, lecture case studies, and virtual reality.
• Developing expert level coaching and mentoring skills.
• Evaluating current practice, formulating outcomes for groups of patients and/or organizational processes within area of expertise.
• Collaborating with other Clinical Educators and interprofessional healthcare teams in the ongoing clinical education activities including in-services, training, competency assessment, and evaluations of both current and new staff nursing skills.
• Reviewing current nursing literature for new trends and changes based on evidence-based research with the ability to propose practice and documentation revisions based on evaluation outcomes.
• Collaborating with leadership and unit managers to identify educational training needs for staff, while supporting activities that foster competence, critical thinking, and decision making.
• Providing consultation and collaboration through the participation within organizational committees.
• Ability to analyze, interpret, and evaluate data to determine outcomes and changes related to educational programs.
• Responsible for the documented outcomes at the program or service level.
