We’re looking for a General Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our local and regional team. This role involves executing routine maintenance tasks to uphold the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of Walmart Stores, equipment, or fixtures. You will work under the supervision of the local General Maintenance Manager, adhere to established maintenance schedules and guidelines, and conduct inspections, cleaning, and repairs.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling, food equipment).
- Utilize the work order management system to receive and document reactive repair work orders.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
- Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
- Complete all required training and safety certifications for equipment and tool operation.
- 18 years or older.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
- Vocational or technical certification plus 2 years of experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related trade; or 4 years of related experience.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., move up and down ladders frequently, work at heights, sit or stand for long periods, and work in various temperatures.
- Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, or OUI within the last five years.
- No more than two moving violations in the last three years.
- Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical trade program.
- License in a related trade in the city or state where the job is located.
- No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
- Prior experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Prior experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Intermediate proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
