Role Overview

The Relationship Banker will serve as the single point of contact for customers, matching their needs with First United Bank products and services and mentoring employees to do the same. The role requires precision, adherence to policies, and strong personal connections.

Essential Duties
  • Maintain basic knowledge of all First United Bank products, services, procedures, policies and relevant regulatory issues.
  • Follow proper procedures accurately and efficiently for all customer‑servicing activities.
  • Retain existing customers and develop new customer relationships.
  • Serve as the customers’ single point of contact for all bank products and services.
  • Consistently meet or exceed performance goals, promote new products, and educate customers and peers.
  • Participate in meetings, bank functions, and community events as requested.
  • Meet customer service expectations by greeting customers, smiling, using their name, and building rapport.
  • Identify and match customer product needs by interviewing and discussing financial needs.
  • Open new accounts, certificates of deposit, and other ancillary products, ensuring proper paperwork is completed.
  • Assist customers with routine questions and requests (balance inquiries, statements, check copies, etc.).
  • Process a variety of transactions quickly and accurately according to policies.
  • Maintain drawer limits, perform cash verifications, and verify all transactions.
  • Proactively resolve customer complaints and issues.
  • Resolve account issues listed in reports and assist with charge‑off repayment plans.
  • Perform security functions, open and close bank, and ensure overall safety.
  • Master the primary purpose and essential duties of the Relationship Banker I position.
Employee Specifications
  • High School Diploma (strongly preferred);
    Some college (strongly preferred).
  • One year of retail experience (preferred).
  • Cash handling experience (preferred).
  • Superior customer service skills required.
  • Basic mathematics for problem solving.
  • Exact or highly accurate in daily work.
  • Effective written, verbal communication.
  • Time‑management and independent work ability.
  • Good judgment and decision‑making skills.
  • Critical thinking and logical reasoning.
  • Ability to multi‑task.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
