The Dental Assistant (DA) provides chairside support to dentists and clinical teams in the delivery of high‑quality dental care, including dentures, dental implants, prosthetics, extractions, and oral surgery procedures. This role is responsible for assisting with patient treatment, taking dental impressions, performing radiographs, sterilisation, patient education, and ensuring an exceptional patient experience.
Key responsibilities Clinical support- Assist dentists during dental implant, denture, oral surgery and restorative procedures
- Provide chairside assistance during patient exams and treatment
- Take and process dental X‑rays (where permitted by state regulations)
- Assist with dental impressions, wax bites, and prosthetic procedures
- Support denture fittings, adjustments, and insertions under dentist supervision
- Prepare treatment rooms and instruments before procedures
- Maintain proper infection control and sterilisation protocols
- Deliver exceptional customer service and patient support
- Educate patients on treatment options, denture solutions, after‑care instructions, and pricing
- Review patient information and maintain accurate clinical records
- Escort patients through treatment and checkout processes
- Support positive patient experiences throughout their care journey
- Open and prepare the office for daily operations
- Maintain clean and organised operatories and work spaces
- Manage clinical inventory and order supplies as needed
- Complete required documentation accurately and timely
- Participate in training, continuing education, and team development initiatives
- Active Dental Assistant (DA) certification (if required by state)
