Work Setting: 100% onsite semiconductor manufacturing and cleanroom environment
Compensation: $115,000 – $150,000
Bonus: Annual performance bonus target of approximately 12%–16% based on company and individual performance

Position SummaryThe Process Engineer – Facet Coating & Bar Stack/Unstack is a highly technical engineering role focused on developing, sustaining, and optimizing semiconductor laser manufacturing processes within a fast-paced production environment. This position plays a critical role in supporting advanced semiconductor and optoelectronic device technologies tied to the future of AI and high-performance computing.
This engineer will lead process development activities related to facet coating and bar stack/unstack operations, while also supporting yield improvement, SPC monitoring, process characterization, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires a strong semiconductor process engineering background, hands‑on troubleshooting ability, and collaboration across manufacturing, equipment engineering, process integration, and operations teams.

What You’ll Do- Develop and optimize facet coating and bar stack/unstack processes for semiconductor laser devices
- Sustain and improve existing production processes within semiconductor manufacturing operations
- Support metrology equipment associated with facet coating and bar stack/unstack processing
- Monitor SPC data and maintain process control methodologies
- Investigate yield issues and implement corrective actions to improve process performance
- Characterize and optimize manufacturing processes while developing CTRL plans and OCAP procedures
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing scrap, improving capability, reducing cost, and shortening cycle times
- Design and execute engineering experiments to improve manufacturing outcomes
- Write and maintain process specifications and engineering documentation
- Train Process Technicians on unit processes and manufacturing procedures
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Operations, Equipment Engineering, Process Integration, Design, Supply Chain, and other teams
- Support troubleshooting and disposition activities within production operations
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related technical field
- 3–7+ years of semiconductor manufacturing process engineering experience depending on education level
- Strong understanding of semiconductor wafer processing and manufacturing methodologies
- Experience supporting process development, SPC monitoring, and process optimization activities
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills
- Experience with engineering statistics and statistical software tools such as JMP
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, and Power Point
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within cross‑functional engineering and manufacturing teams
- Experience with facet coating and bar stack/unstack processing technologies
- Backend semiconductor process engineering experience
- Experience supporting high‑volume semiconductor manufacturing operations
- Experience with yield improvement and continuous improvement methodologies
