Custodian

Overview

An internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for a Custodian for Sherman located in Sherman, TX.

Provides a variety of cleaning duties and maintains the building to ensure the upkeep, neatness, and cleanliness of the same on a daily basis.

No formal education required, and six months experience performing general janitorial and general maintenance duties; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Certifications: None

High school diploma or G.E.D., and prior experience working with the public performing customer service or receptionist responsibilities, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities.

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively. Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects. Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing. Ability to exert the physical energy required to perform the needed janitorial work. Duties are performed standing and requires squatting, climbing, bending, and walking.

Any of the preceding duties may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of sitting. Extensive amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.).
Working Conditions: Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environment with exposure to dirt, dust, disagreeable sights and/or odors, and various temperatures.
