Position:
Janitor – Part‑Time (Afternoon and Evening Shifts)

• Perform routine janitorial work of facilities and buildings under general supervision and additional maintenance duties as needed.
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming, and strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Clean restroom areas, men’s, women’s, unisex restrooms, and related supply areas.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other approved cleaners.
• Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
• Prepare cleaning solutions in containers according to SDS specifications.
• Steam‑clean or shampoo carpets.
• Clean laboratory equipment (glassware and metal instruments) with solvents, brushes, rags, and power cleaning equipment.
• Follow chemical and power equipment procedures to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Monitor building security and safety by locking doors after hours, checking electrical appliance use, and ensuring no hazards are created.
• Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies manually or using hand trucks.
• Clear debris from grounds and building surroundings.
• Notify managers of major repair or addition needs.
• Requisition supplies and equipment for cleaning and maintenance.
• Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding for events such as banquets and meetings.
• Spray insecticides and fumigants to prevent insect and rodent infestation.

• Various other job duties as requested by supervisor.
