Operations Engineer, Production Manager, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Engineer
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee shift performance in one or more of the following manufacturing processes:
Front End, Back End, Probe, EPI, and other manufacturing process functions. - Supervise the operator teams to:
- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Deliver high‑quality, cost‑competitive products on time.
- Collaborate with process engineering, logistics, and R&M to ensure attainment of site goals.
- Lead teams and individuals to continuously improve work processes and efficiencies.
- Create a work environment that encourages open communication, positive employee relations, creativity, productivity, and participation, treating employees with respect, recognition, and rewards.
- Create flexible training plans to ensure a right mix of job skills to support all manufacturing needs.
- Effectively execute 8D and 5‑Why processes, including presentation development and delivery, and Agile ICAR updates.
- Provide input for procedural changes to streamline or improve manufacturing operations.
- Assist in training new supervisors.
- Act as a stand‑in for Manager/Senior Manager.
BS Degree or equivalent combined experience and education. 10+ years minimum related experience.
Skills- Ability to work in a high‑complexity environment and deliver results across multiple metrics.
- Team leadership and management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
- Collaborate in a professional and respectful manner with coworkers, vendors, contractors, etc.
Work in a class 100/1000 cleanroom for extended periods. Wear full cleanroom attire (smock, mask, etc.). Work with and/or around chemicals such as solvents and acids. Work 12‑hour compressed shifts, alternating between 3 and 4 shifts per week.
Physical RequirementsStand for up to 4 hours at a time, sit for up to 4 hours at a time, lift 16‑30 pounds, and push/pull 51‑75 pounds.
Safety RequirementsAll employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards.
Quality and Environmental ResponsibilitiesDepending on location, this position may be responsible for the execution and maintenance of the ISO 9000, 9001, 14001 and/or other applicable standards that may apply to the relevant roles and responsibilities within the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
