Machine Operator – Sherman, TX

4201 S Highway 75, Sherman, Texas 75090
Shift: Days, 7:00AM–7:30PM (12‑hour rotating shift) – B Shift
Base Pay: $23.00 per hour.
Job OverviewAltium Packaging is one of the largest plastic container companies and suppliers of rigid plastic packaging. We specialize in customized mid‑ and short‑run packaging solutions for a diverse customer base in the pharmaceutical, dairy, household chemicals, food/nutraceuticals, industrial/specialty chemicals, water, and beverage/juice segments.
Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and applicable laws and regulations.
- Set up machines (calibration, cleaning, etc.) to start a production cycle.
- Control and adjust machine settings (e.g., speed).
- Operate blow‑mold machines (including wheels, reciprocator or shuttle machines).
- Perform audits, weigh and quality checks.
- Check output to spot any machine‑related mistakes or flaws.
- Keep records of approved and defective units or final products.
- Enter data into SPC database for quality control measures.
- Troubleshoot, perform preventative maintenance and minor repair on blow mold and support equipment.
- Repair or replace pneumatic and hydraulic lines.
- Maintain activity logs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years’ experience as a machine operator.
- 2+ years’ blow‑mold machine operation preferred.
- Working knowledge of diverse high‑speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer, etc.).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical skills.
- Machine maintenance experience.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals.
- Ability to work overtime.
- Physical stamina and strength; able to stand for long periods.
Completion of Altium Machine Operator1 training within 90days of hire date.

Employees are required to stand, walk, use hands to grasp, handle, or feel, reach out, over and below with hands and arms. Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently required to lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 50pounds.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment includes moving mechanical parts, a loud noise level, and temperature fluctuations between hot and cold. Personal protective equipment is required in the production department and other designated areas.
