The PET/Injection Machine Operator will operate machinery to produce pre-forms and/or PET bottles. The PET/Injection Machine Operator is also responsible for following our company's Good Manufacturing Practices.
Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and applicable laws and regulations.
- Operate an injection molding machine to shape plastics.
- Monitor production process and downstream equipment and make process adjustments when needed.
- Verify pre-form attributes using statistical process control techniques.
- Make adjustments to processes and perform quality assurance testing using laboratory equipment.
- Adjust machine settings according to product specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic mechanical and process problems.
- Perform maintenance on equipment.
- Adhere to quality control and blow mold process procedures.
- Repair or replace pneumatic and hydraulic lines.
- Prepare maintenance request forms and document equipment repairs.
- Train PET/Injection Machine operators.
- Prepare and document daily production reports, including rejects, regrinds, line efficiencies, and other metrics.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.
QualificationsRequired:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- AS degree preferred.
- Formal education: apprenticeship and/or formal training in the area of specialty.
- 1-3 years of experience in the field or a related area.
