Production Supervisor

Sets up and operates the Voorwood laminating/profile-wrapping machine to apply foil, veneer, or laminate finishes to wood profile components. Ensures consistent product quality, monitors machine performance, and supports production schedules while following all safety procedures.

• Set up and operate the Voorwood laminating/profile-wrapping machine to apply foils, veneers, or laminate materials to millwork and wood profile components.
• Read and interpret job tickets and specifications to select correct materials, adhesives, and machine settings for each run.
• Load substrate profiles and laminate/foil rolls, adjusting feed rates, temperature, and pressure settings to achieve a consistent, defect-free finish.
• Inspect finished parts for proper adhesion, alignment, surface quality, and dimensional accuracy, and remove defective pieces from the line.
• Perform routine machine adjustments, cleaning, and preventive maintenance to keep the Voorwood machine running efficiently.
• Troubleshoot minor machine malfunctions and notify maintenance or a supervisor for issues beyond routine adjustments.
• Maintain accurate production counts, material usage, and scrap/waste records for each run.
• Stage, stack, and transport finished components to the next production stage using proper material handling methods.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area around the machine.
• Communicate production status, material needs, and quality issues to the shift supervisor.

• Job Purpose:
  
  Operate the Voorwood machine to produce high-quality laminated/wrapped wood profile components that meet customer specifications.
• Working Conditions:
  
  Manufacturing floor environment; regular standing, repetitive motion, and lifting of materials (up to 40-50 lbs.); exposure to adhesives, heat, and machine noise.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  
  Prior experience operating a Voorwood machine or similar laminating/profile-wrapping equipment in a millwork or wood products setting.
• Job Duties:
  
  Machine setup, material loading, quality inspection, minor troubleshooting, and production recordkeeping.
• Responsibilities:
  Maintain consistent product quality, minimize material waste, and support on-time production schedules.

• Prior experience operating a Voorwood machine, laminator, or similar profile-wrapping equipment preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to make routine machine adjustments.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on surface finish and dimensional quality.
• Ability to read job tickets, work orders, and basic production specifications.
• Ability to stand, bend, and lift materials for extended periods.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
