Events and Ministry Coordinator (Offsite, Part-Time)

Sherman, Texas, United States

This is a part time, paid position.

Responsibilities
  • Part‑time role serving one Senior Adult (55+) community in Sherman, TX.
  • Coordinator does not need to be a senior but must have a strong heart for this population.
  • Will work 11 hours per week (two 5.5‑hour days) and be paid $21 per hour.
  • Must be available Monday–Friday before 5:30 pm when the leasing office is open.
  • Plan and host two monthly events to promote social engagement, wellness, health, enrichment, and stability.
  • Update a list of helpful resources for residents monthly (e.g., rent assistance, food assistance).
  • Meet with residents with specific needs and help connect them to local resources.
  • Partner with community businesses to provide holistic activities.
  • Communicate effectively with onsite staff and Apartment Life supervisor.
  • Report activity and impact each month.
  • Work with corporate, government, and nonprofit partners to create programs that meet community needs.
  • Organize and host educational workshops for adults and youth.
  • Ensure all activities run smoothly.
  • Meet weekly with supervisor to review program and goals.
  • Submit monthly reports on activities and impact.
Required Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor's Degree or related experience in event planning, social impact, or human services.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to provide after‑hours or weekend activities as needed.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Basic fluency in English to compose marketing elements for the community and required reports.
  • Possesses a current driver's license, liability insurance, and reliable transportation for coordinating events and vendor visits.
  • Physically able to use stairs, bend, sit, stand, stoop, and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Availability to commit weekly hours, mainly evenings and weekends when most residents are home.
  • Committed to the minimum term of service in the apartment community.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred, but not required.
  • Experience serving at‑risk populations.
  • Experience working within a budget.
  • Network of support through potential volunteers, vendors, or community partners.
