The Police Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Sherman, TX, responsible for promoting a safe and secure environment across district campuses and facilities. Day-to-day responsibilities include patrolling school grounds, responding to incidents, enforcing applicable laws and district policies, and providing visible security during school hours and events. The role includes conducting preliminary criminal investigations, collecting and preserving evidence, writing detailed reports, and collaborating with campus administrators and local law enforcement agencies.

The Police Officer also engages in safety education for students and staff, assists with emergency preparedness and response plans, and supports positive relationships between the school community and law enforcement.

• Strong law enforcement skills, including Law Enforcement and Police experience, with demonstrated knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local laws.
• Experience with Criminal Investigations and Evidence handling, including proper collection, documentation, and preservation procedures.
• Background as Police Officers or equivalent sworn peace officer roles, preferably in school-based, community, or municipal settings.
• Valid peace officer license or certification as required by the State of Texas, and eligibility to meet all regulatory and training standards.
• Excellent judgment, situational awareness, and de-escalation skills, with the ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with students, staff, families, and community partners, and for preparing clear incident reports.
• Ability to work collaboratively with educators and administrators, demonstrating cultural awareness, professionalism, and respect for diverse backgrounds.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced training or education in criminal justice, law enforcement, or related field is preferred.
• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, and meet physical requirements of the role, including passing background checks and any required fitness or medical evaluations.
