Load Builder​/Forklift Operator

Contract Lumber is hiring a Load Builder/Forklift Operator in Texas to support our wholesale building materials operations. In this role, you will safely operate forklifts to move, stack, and load lumber and building products for homebuilders and contractors. You'll pull and build accurate loads from pick tickets, secure products for transport, and assist with loading/unloading trucks in a busy yard environment.

Expect hands-on work, outdoor conditions, and a strong focus on safety. You'll work closely with drivers and operations teams, help maintain inventory and yard organization, and support reliable, on-time customer deliveries while learning the building materials industry.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift and other material handling equipment safely
• Build, stage, and secure lumber loads per order specifications
• Inspect materials for quality, damage, and accuracy
• Load and unload trucks and trailers efficiently
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe yard and work areas
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
• Work closely with drivers, sales, and operations teams
• Use basic paperwork or handheld systems to track loads
• Assist with inventory counts and material rotation
• Support additional yard and warehouse tasks as needed
