Position: Job Posting Title Credit Analyst II - Finance Shared Services

Position Summary

Reporting to the AR Supervisor, the Credit Analyst II is responsible for evaluating the creditworthiness of customers and prospective customers to support informed credit decisions and minimize financial risk. This intermediate-level role applies developing professional knowledge to analyze financial information, assess credit exposure, monitor account performance, and make recommendations regarding credit limits and terms. The Credit Analyst II also maintains customer credit records within Sage, VantagePoint, and other applicable systems while supporting compliance with company policies and risk management practices.

  • This role is on site in office 5 days/week and will be based out of our Sherwood Park, AB office.
  • Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week

Responsibilities
  • Assess customer creditworthiness by evaluating financial statements, credit reports, client references, and other relevant financial information
  • Conduct financial ratio analysis, trend analysis, and risk assessments to identify potential credit concerns
  • Prepare detailed credit evaluations and recommendations regarding credit approvals, declines, modifications, and credit limit adjustments
  • Monitor existing customer accounts and identify early warning signs of financial distress or potential default
  • Review and maintain customer credit files, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records within ERP and related systems
  • Assist in establishing and reviewing customer credit limits, payment terms, and account conditions
  • Collaborate with collections, sales, operations, and other internal stakeholders to resolve credit-related issues and support business objectives
  • Ensure compliance with company credit policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Support reporting activities by preparing credit analyses, risk assessments, and management reports
  • Identify opportunities to improve credit processes, risk management practices, and operational efficiency
  • Perform other similar duties as required and assigned from time to time
  • Other work duties as assigned.
Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strong understanding of credit analysis principles, risk assessment methodologies, and financial statement analysis
  • Knowledge of income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and financial ratio analysis
  • Knowledge of credit reporting tools, credit scoring methodologies, and lending or commercial credit practices
  • Understanding of economic conditions, industry trends, and factors affecting credit risk
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools
  • Experience with ERP systems, Sage, VantagePoint, or similar financial software
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prepare clear, concise, and professional credit reports and recommendations
  • Ability to interpret complex financial information and exercise sound judgment in decision-making
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with discretion
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

EDUCATION:

  • Certified Credit Professional (CCP) (Canada), Certified Credit Executive (CCE) (United States), or progress toward certification preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field considered an asset, but not required
  • 3–5 years of experience in credit analysis, underwriting, finance, accounts receivable, or a related field required
  • Experience with credit reporting tools, ERP systems, and financial analysis software required
