Overview
Job Summary and Responsibilities: As our Security Officer, you will maintain the highest level of safety and security by patrolling assigned areas, diligently deterring, detecting, and investigating suspicious activity or crime. You will monitor electronic surveillance equipment and hospital emergency systems, dispatch appropriate personnel via radio, and actively patrol to protect individuals and property, while embodying core values and supporting strategic quality improvement.
You will demonstrate exceptional vigilance, strong observational skills, proficiency in electronic surveillance and dispatch systems, and a commitment to protecting the community while upholding organizational values.
- Patrol assigned areas, on foot or by vehicle, and provide service and protection.
- Investigate suspicious person(s) or activity, respond to crimes in progress or that have occurred, disturbances, accidents, various public service calls, and miscellaneous incidents.
- Investigate complaints, criminal incidents, suspicious activity and accidents; prepare detailed written incident reports.
- When assigned to dispatch, monitor electronic surveillance equipment to identify suspicious activity and dispatch appropriate personnel; operate base radio station, monitor radio traffic, answer multiple telephone lines, and maintain logs of radio communications and requests; tabulate data from logs to produce activity reports.
- Provide general information and assistance to patients, visitors, and employees, including safety-related escorts as requested, to various campus locations.
- Collaborate with department personnel and external agencies to gather and exchange information and promote departmental services on campus.
Required
- High School Graduate General Studies and six (6) months experience as a security officer in a hospital or healthcare setting, upon hire
- High School GED General Studies and six (6) months experience as a security officer in a hospital or healthcare setting, upon hire
- Prior law enforcement or military experience
- Driver's License: AR, upon hire
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
Preferred
- One year experience as a security officer
