Overview
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a PHYSICIAN (AEROSPACE MEDICINE) (TITLE
5), Position Description Number T6001000 and is part of the IL 126, National Guard.
As a PHYSICIAN (AEROSPACE MEDICINE) (TITLE
5), GP-0602-14, you will provide a part-time, residency-trained, experienced Physician to plan, schedule, execute, manage, and administer installation-wide medical management, including aerospace and operational disposition. You will provide critical clinical judgment for medical case management to promote and maintain the health and well‑being of assigned Air National Guard (ANG) personnel.
- Must pass a background investigation.
- Subject to provisions of DoD Priority Placement Program.
- Position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
- IAW the Fair Chance Act, agency employees may not request criminal history information at the point of initial application, upon receipt of an application, or prior to, during or after a job interview.
- Irregular or overtime hours may be required.
- Position is subject to drug testing.
- Must be board-certified in a primary‑care specialty (Aerospace Medicine, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, or Emergency Medicine).
- Physician’s license required.
- Must possess knowledge of DOD 6130.03, March 30, 2018 Medical Standards for Appointment, Enlistment, or Induction into the Military services.
- Must maintain current state licensure, Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or other named specialties.
- Incumbent may be required to report for or remain on duty during inclement weather.
- Incumbent may be required to participate in contingency readiness exercises, major accident response exercises, and investigations.
- Required to file OGE Form 450, Confidential Statement of Affiliations and Financial Interests.
- Must obtain and maintain privileging for the DOD/AFMS/ANGMS per DHA PM 6025‑13 Vol 4 and DAFMAN 44‑119.
- Must maintain credentials (current and unrestricted state license, BLS, clinical competencies, etc.) per DHA PM 6025‑13 Vol 4 and DAFMAN 44‑119.
- Position is designated as essential personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for or in response to a state emergency or disaster declaration. This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG.
- May be required to successfully complete a trial period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
