The Opportunity
Software Defined Network Engineer. Maintain responsibility for completing site surveys and creating structured designs for the customer’s network in support of voice, data, security, and audio and visual systems. Design technical documents such as engineered drawings, specifications, and reports. Work closely with technical resources such as other IT and facilities team members, project teams, clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and material suppliers with analyzing business and technical requirements to develop system designs, estimates, implementation plans, and management and customer reports, and coordinate the structured cabling design with other design disciplines.
Implement final network solutions to support on-prem and cloud environments. Manage the production of network devices and network architecture design, and develop all supporting documentation required for implementation in a global network.
- Conduct site surveys and develop structured network designs for voice, data, security, and audio/visual systems.
- Prepare technical documents including engineered drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Collaborate with IT, facilities, project teams, clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to analyze requirements and develop designs, estimates, implementation plans, and management reports.
- Coordinate structured cabling design with other design disciplines.
- Implement final network solutions for on-premises and cloud environments.
- Oversee production of network devices and network architecture design; develop supporting implementation documentation for a global network.
- Experience in Enterprise IT, network, or security engineering.
- Experience with cybersecurity technology implementation using products such as Versa Networks.
- Experience developing and executing test and implementation plans based on requirements.
- Secret clearance.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience with zero trust technologies, including design or implementation.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), or Policy as Code (PaC).
- Experience with virtualized, cloud, and containerized infrastructure such as Docker or Kubernetes.
- Experience with API integrations and basic Python scripting.
- Experience with AI or ML, prompt engineering, RAG, and agentic integration.
- Knowledge of zero trust technologies, including ICAM, PAM, UEDM, EDR, SDN, ZTNA, DSPM, DRM, or DLP.
- CISSP Certification.
- DoD 8140 Certification.

The posting notes that compensation is determined by factors including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $ (annualized USD). This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
