This position is within the Defense Information Systems Agency's (DISA) Global Information Grid (GIG) and provides network operations support from the 24x7 DISA Global Operations Center (DGOC). The role is a JRSS NOC Technician at Scott AFB, IL, requiring U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance.
Shift: Rotating 24/7.
Salary: $65,000 - $75,000.
- Perform network operations, analyzing customer traffic across the MPLS and JRSS infrastructure.
- Execute real‑time failover to restore services during outages and maintenance.
- Collaborate with customers and peers to maximize network availability and minimize mission impact.
- Proactively monitor network alarms using platform‑specific management tools.
- Carry out change management tasks such as hardware replacement, software configuration, and ASI management.
- Use incident‑management applications to document outages, escalations, and resolutions.
- Diagnose and resolve network incidents using knowledge of routers, switches, routing protocols, MPLS, VPNs, IDS/IPS, proxies, packet capture, network taps, load balancers, firewalls, and out‑of‑band management.
- High school diploma and 2–4 years of relevant experience.
- DoD‑8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) at the start date.
- Ability to work in a 24/7 operation.
- Experience with alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, or performance management.
- Knowledge of routers, switches, routing protocols, Cisco, Juniper, and MPLS.
- General understanding of network topologies.
- Active DoD Secret security clearance.
- Experience in a technical control facility or cyber transport environment.
- Experience with circuit actions and vendor support.
- IP architecture experience.
- Telco NOC experience, inside or outside plant.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Experience with alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance management, or change management.
- Additional certifications such as CCNA, JNCIA–Juniper, F5 Networks Certified Technical Specialist, ITIL v4.
