Description
Our customer is the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), which provides the Global Information Grid (GIG) and Defense Information System Network (DISN) services to the Department of Defense (DoD) and national security organizations. This role directly supports DISA’s GIG capabilities and services in the 24/7 DISA Global Operations Center (DGOC) at Scott AFB, IL.
US Citizenship is required along with a current DoD Secret Clearance.
Salary Range – $65,000 - $75,000
Primary Responsibilities- Execute network operations, including analysis of customer traffic across the MPLS and JRSS infrastructure.
- Perform real‑time customer failover to restore services during scheduled and unscheduled outages and maintenance actions.
- Work directly with supported customers and peers to ensure maximum network availability and minimize mission impact.
- Proactively monitor network alarms across platform‑specific network management tools.
- Perform change management tasks including hardware replacement, software configuration, and ASI management.
- Utilize incident management applications to document all aspects of reported outages, isolations, escalations, and resolutions.
- Assess and identify resolutions to network incidents and deficiencies, leveraging knowledge of routers, switches, routing protocols, MPLS, VPN, IDS/IPS, proxies, packet capture, traffic taps, load balancers, firewalls, and out‑of‑band management.
- DoD‑8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) at the start date.
- High school diploma and 2–4 years of related experience.
- Ability to work in a 24/7 operation.
- Experience with alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance management.
- Expertise in routers, switches, routing protocols, Cisco, Juniper, MPLS.
- General understanding of network topologies.
- Active DoD Secret security clearance.
- Experience in a technical control facility or cyber transport environment.
- Circuit actions and vendor experience.
- IP architecture experience.
- Telco NOC, inside or outside plant experience.
- Experience with MS Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Experience with alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance management, change management.
- Additional certifications such as CCNA, JNCIA‑Junos, F5 Networks Certified Technical Specialist, ITILv
