Position Overview Our partner is seeking an Intelligent Automation Engineer to support a growing portfolio of enterprise modernization and automation initiatives within the Defense sector. This role will focus on designing, developing, testing, implementing, and supporting intelligent automation solutions that improve financial and operational business processes. The engineer will work across financial management systems, enterprise applications, cloud platforms, data environments, analytics technologies, and emerging artificial intelligence solutions to improve efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and support data-driven decision-making.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience in intelligent automation, robotic process automation (RPA), software development, data integration, or related technologies.

Experience with platforms such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, or Microsoft Power Automate is highly desirable. This role provides an opportunity to combine automation engineering, enterprise technology, data, and AI to solve complex business challenges within federal environments. Position Responsibilities Design, develop, test, deploy, and support intelligent automation solutions that improve financial and operational business processes. Build scalable automation workflows using RPA platforms and modern automation frameworks while maintaining reliability, security, and compliance with enterprise standards.

Assess business processes to identify automation opportunities, evaluate process maturity, and prioritize high-value opportunities for RPA and intelligent automation. Analyze existing workflows and design improved business processes that align with organizational objectives and integrate effectively with existing functional and technology environments. Integrate automation solutions with enterprise applications, databases, APIs, financial systems, reporting platforms, and cloud-based data environments. Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, and project leadership to gather requirements and translate business needs into practical technical solutions.

Perform risk assessments related to internal controls, business process reengineering, automation governance, and configuration management. Support the full automation development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, deployment, documentation, and production support. Monitor automation performance, troubleshoot production issues, and implement enhancements that improve reliability, efficiency, and business value. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including solution designs, process maps, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), testing artifacts, and operational support documentation.

Provide end-user training, knowledge transfer, and post-implementation support to encourage adoption and resolve technical issues. Support continuous improvement of automation solutions and identify opportunities to incorporate emerging technologies, including AI-enabled and agentic automation capabilities. Required Skills/Experience 3+ years of experience designing, developing, testing, and implementing automation solutions, process improvements, or enterprise application integrations. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Analytics, Business Information Systems, or a related technical field.

Equivalent professional experience may be considered. U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance. Clearance sponsorship may be available for qualified candidates. Strong technical foundation in intelligent automation, robotic process automation (RPA), software development, data integration, or cloud technologies.

Experience with RPA or automation platforms such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, Microsoft Power Automate, or similar technologies. Programming or scripting experience using Python, SQL, JavaScript, or similar technologies. Experience integrating enterprise applications, databases, APIs, reporting platforms, and cloud-based data environments. Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices, including requirements gathering, solution design, testing, deployment, documentation, and production support. Ability to analyze business processes, identify automation opportunities, and translate functional requirements into technical solutions.
