Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with an active IL license, ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications for night shifts in a Magnet hospital.

• Work in a 6-bed ICU unit within an acute care hospital
• Night shift schedule, working three 12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• Every other weekend required
• Possible floating to Medical Cardiology or Med/Surg units as needed
• Small patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2
• Tele-ICU intensivist support available
• EPIC charting experience required
• Self-motivation and autonomy are essential in this role
• Travelers commonly act as relief charge RN in a small team environment
• Must wear navy scrubs while on shift
• Permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers may stay up to 18 months, with a required 3-month break after this period
• Holiday coverage may be required as part of the schedule
• No more than 7 days of requested time off during the 13-week contract, with no time off granted during the first week
• Pre-employment fit testing required; proper facial hair grooming expected for mask fit
• Modules must be completed prior to start and are compensated up to 16 hours
• Parking is available at no cost

• Active IL RN license required at the time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years ICU experience outside of orientation
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
• No local candidates within a 75-mile radius will be accepted
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
