Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-week night shift contract in Shiloh, IL at a Magnet-recognized acute care hospital near St. Louis.
OverviewSeeking an experienced ICU RN (critical care nurse) for a night-shift travel nurse assignment in Shiloh, Illinois. Ideal candidates have strong ventilator, hemodynamic, and critical care assessment skills and want to work in a collaborative acute care hospital serving the greater St. Louis metropolitan area.
Job Details- Title: ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nurse, Night Shift
- Location: Shiloh, Illinois (62269) – near St. Louis, MO
- Setting: Acute Care Hospital – 6-bed ICU (critical care)
- Contract Type: Travel (13 weeks)
- Start / End Dates: April 6, 2026 – July 6, 2026
- Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-hour shifts/week (18:45 – 07:15)
- Hours: Guaranteed 36 hours per week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Charting: EPIC (experience preferred)
- Scrub Color: Navy
- Parking: Free on-site parking
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1830-$1930/week
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois (required at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years recent ICU (critical care) experience outside of orientation
- Certifications:
ACLS and BLS required; NIHSS required - EPIC charting experience preferred
- Experience managing ventilators, vasoactive drips, central and arterial lines
- Ability to float within scope to Medical Cardiology or Med/Surg units as needed
- Must reside outside a 75-mile radius from Shiloh, IL (travel nurse requirement)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted); COVID-19 vaccine not required
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care to adult and geriatric ICU patients with medical, surgical, and high-acuity needs
- Monitor, assess, and respond to rapid changes in patient condition, including ventilator management and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips
- Perform and interpret 12-lead EKGs; manage central and arterial lines; care for mechanically ventilated patients
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, and rapid response teams
- Float to Medical Cardiology or Med/Surg units as needed to support staffing
- Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC and participate in care coordination
- Participate in self-scheduling and work every other weekend as required
- Support a safe, positive patient experience in a small, close-knit ICU with 1:1–1:2 nurse-to-patient ratios
- Work in a Magnet-recognized acute care hospital with strong clinical support
- Tele-ICU intensivist consult available for additional clinical guidance
