About the Role
We are supporting critical Department of Defense networks that enable global communications, satellite systems, and national security operations. This role places you in a Network Operations Center (NOC) supporting DISA and other mission‑critical environments.
Responsibilities- Monitor and manage a large‑scale WAN environment in a 24/7 NOC
- Investigate network incidents, outages, and performance issues (Layer 2/Layer
3) - Troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and telecom circuits
- Analyze alarms and resolve issues across voice, video, and data systems
- Document incidents and resolutions using ticketing tools (e.g., Remedy)
- Support technologies such as Cisco, Juniper, SATCOM, and VoIP
- Active Secret Security Clearance (required)
- Security+ certification (DoD 8570 IAT Level II) required prior to start
- 1-3+ years of hands‑on networking experience, including:
- Routers and switches (Cisco or Juniper preferred)
- LAN/WAN troubleshooting
- Network monitoring, alarms, or fault management
- Understanding of:
- OSI Model (Layer 2 and Layer
3) - Network topologies (IP and transport)
- OSI Model (Layer 2 and Layer
- Ability to work in a 24/7 shift environment (including nights and weekends)
- CCNA, CySA+, or similar certifications
- Experience in a NOC or telecom environment
- Exposure to SATCOM, VoIP, or secure networks
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
- Swing Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
- Midnight Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Schedule options:
Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday - Rotates approximately every 3 months
- Guaranteed one weekend day off

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Scott Air Force Base, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
