Job Overview:
Responsible for assisting with product development and samples creation and providing support in development strategies. This role helps develop an all-around understanding of the entire life cycle of the product development process from samples to commercialization.

• Independently directs plant trials and FPRs, pretrial meetings, measuring, recording and tabulating records on plant trial production details and outcomes, including labour head counts and suitability to production, with or without Product Development & Tech Services support.
• Conduct bench work in the test kitchen to evaluate new ingredients and flavours.
• Prepare lab samples for the department.
• Conduct shelf life studies, collate and distribute finished reports.
• Take ownership of personal project load and remain flexible to changes in workload and project expectations.
• Back up another Product Development Assistants/Coordinators on other product categories, making samples and attending plant trials during teammate absences.
• Replace Sample Clerk during vacations and absences.
• Record data in computer systems to complete shelf life evaluation sheets, record information for recipe changes and records information in TVCs under supervision.
• Maintain accurate paperwork for trials, project updates, formulas, and any changes.
• Conduct shelf life testing, obtaining samples, scheduling, attending, tabulating, and distributing results.
• Identify areas of improvement and concerns and recommend improvements by providing guidance in product upgrades to meet changing business demands.
• Observe all SQF and HACCP policies.
• Learn technical plant skills by assisting the department with their production lines.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement projects under the Product Developer's guidance.
• Assist direct supervisor with Capex commissioning projects.
• Maintain consistency and accuracy of information flow between design, development and Marketing teams.
• Update Marketing Assistants and Managers on progress of expected customer samples and plant trials.

• Completion of college diploma in Culinary Management, Food Science, Nutrition or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years experience in the Food Manufacturing industry.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively.
