Nature and Scope
This position is responsible for providing maintenance support to the glass washroom production area for the Shirley, NY site. Primary responsibilities of this role include, assembling, setting up, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of De-Pyrogenation tunnels, vial cappers/sealers, conveyors, and other ancillary equipment in the glass washroom area. This position reports in to the Maintenance Manager and shift supervisors within the engineering department.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, the ideal candidate must be able to perform each essential duty listed below satisfactorily. Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair glass washroom production equipment.
- Setup and teardown of the essential equipment in the glass washroom.
- Routine adjustments to essential equipment in the glass washroom.
- Conducting preventive maintenance on essential equipment and systems in the glass washroom.
- Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair of essential equipment and systems in the glass washroom.
- Assist the Engineering Department in the development of, and execution of critical project related activities within the glass washroom.
- Providing input and suggestions to the operational execution teams at site for making optional improvements.
- Perform basic repairs and fabrication of non-OEM spare part components such as guard, dead-plates, transition pieces, rails, brackets, and covers.
- Ability to perform inventory for spare parts and determine what is needed.
- Maintain 100% Training Compliance.
- Perform any other tasks/duties as assigned by management.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
Vocational or trade school certification preferred.
- 4 years' Experience in equipment maintenance field in a manufacturing environment required. cGMP and/or related experience Preferred.
- 4 years' Experience in basic welding and sheet metal fabrication preferred.
- Working knowledge of basic maintenance shop equipment (drill press, hydraulic press, bandsaw, grinder, belt sander).
- Basic understanding of and experience troubleshooting and operating PLCs and automated controls.
- Must be able to read documents in Standard English such as Standard Operating Procedures, maintenance schedules and operating manuals.
- Must be flexible to work on multiple shifts and holidays. This position is part of a multi‑shift operation and may require assignment to a regular off shift and/or weekends schedule.
- Must be able to sit, walk, squat, bend over, lift, grasp, hold and stand for extended periods of time.
- Physically able to wear cleanroom/protective gowning and equipment, including but not limited to gowning, goggles, face shields, respirators, and protective gloves. PPE and Respirators are essential for the health and safety of employees.
- Employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
$29.52-$33.00
