Retail Sales Associate

$14.00 to $15.00 per hour

We offer an easily achievable commission structure that pays you for every transaction you process. Our retail sales associates can earn up to 8% on transactions, potentially adding an average of $1.00 per hour on top of your hourly rate.

We are seeking entry‑level, full‑time sales associates to work in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. The role involves greeting, engaging, and interacting with customers, processing sales and loan transactions, and assisting with customer inquiries and problem resolution.

Associates will handle a wide variety of merchandise, including jewelry, tools, electronics, and firearms (in FFL locations).

The position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity. Pay is based on location, qualifications, and experience.

• Greet and interact with all customers, building rapport and recommending appropriate financial solutions.
• Perform non‑management open/close procedures.
• Keep the sales floor clean, stocked, and display merchandise.
• Process sales and loan transactions in accordance with policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Handle all cash and negotiable items responsibly.
• Answer incoming calls following company standards.
• Communicate legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and managers, showing respect and professionalism.
• Collaborate with all employees to create a positive customer experience.
• Successfully complete all assigned training.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Willing and able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Capable of performing duties requiring standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting as per federal, state, and local law.
• Ability to work with firearms and obtain firearms certification.
• May be asked to assist a customer outside the store premises or retrieve products from exterior storage buildings.
• Minimum age: 18 years.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong desire to work, serve customers, and collaborate as part of a team.
• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
• Basic math proficiency.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Ability to work at multiple locations as business needs dictate.
• Flexibility to work a retail schedule that includes weekends and holidays.
• Computer literate and able to operate point‑of‑sale (POS) systems and common office machines.

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers can earn 2–8% commission based on the gross profit of their personal performance. Detailed commission information is provided during the interview process.
