Role Overview
YHA Truleigh Hill is looking to recruit seasonal Hospitality Team Members for the 2026 season. The role is a fixed‑term, flexible contract, ranging from 10 to 35 hours per week at £12.21 per hour, rising to £12.71 per hour from 1 March 2026 in line with the National Living Wage. Located in the heart of the South Downs National Park, our hostel offers 52 beds, glamping, a campsite and a seasonal café open to the public.
As a Hospitality Team Member, you will be involved in all aspects of the job—housekeeping, reception duties and kitchen work—ensuring guests have a memorable experience.

ResponsibilitiesWe provide the training required, but you will get stuck into a wide range of duties from day one, including:
- Providing great customer service to all customers, members and guests.
- Working on reception, offering insights about the hostel and the local area.
- Ensuring every guest feels informed and welcomed.
- Using our systems for efficient guest check‑ins and check‑outs, food and beverage sales and service.
- Carrying out housekeeping duties, ensuring a comfortable, clean environment for all visitors.
- Assisting in the preparation of food and serving food and drinks with genuine warmth, hospitality and pride, which will influence sales.
We are looking for Hospitality Team Members who have:
- Experience of working face‑to‑face with customers
- Experience of working in a team – able to help others achieve a common goal
- Excellent time‑keeping, punctuality and flexibility to cover different shifts
- Ability to manage varying pressures, including peaks in workload – prioritising, dealing with conflicting duties
- Knowledge and understanding of YHA’s core purpose and how we do it
- Demonstration of our HEART values – bringing them to life in everyday work
