Position: Nursing Tenure-Track Faculty (Pregnancy/Delivery/Postpartum Focus)

172- day Academic Year Salary Base Range: $69,584 to $79,163*, dependent upon education/experience

* This position qualifies for an
additional 26% of base salary for the academic year through the Nursing Educators Supplemental Salary program which would bring the salary range to $87,676 -$99,745
. Additional pay available for summer quarter and additional assignments.

The ANA Code of Ethics, AACN Essentials, QSEN Competencies, and Washington State Nurse Practice Act inform our curriculum.

The base salary indicated above has an additional 26% Nursing Educators Supplemental Salary stipend to meet industry standards bringing the salary range to $87,676 -$99,745. This pay adjustment is based on continuous funding. This position is primarily childbearing families focused and the individual in this position contributes to Shoreline College’s mission by supporting diverse students in achieving their educational goals. Shoreline seeks a candidate who can identify and mitigate the barriers to success that many students face and is passionate about creating an equitable learning environment that supports success for all students.

Functions & Responsibilities
  • Instruction
  • Teach assigned courses in accordance with approved curriculum and course outlines.
  • Develop and maintain engaging, inclusive, and accessible learning environments.
  • Assess student learning outcomes and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Curriculum & Academic Development
  • Participate in curriculum review, development, and program assessment.
  • Integrate current industry/discipline trends, technology, and pedagogical best practices.
  • Student Support
  • Advise and mentor students regarding academic progress and career pathways.
  • Maintain regular office hours and respond promptly to student inquiries.
  • Professional Engagement
  • Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and college-wide initiatives.
  • Complete 75 service hours per quarter as part of other academic responsibilities which includes advising.
  • Engage in required institutional trainings and ongoing professional development to maintain subject matter expertise.
  • Community & Institutional Service
  • Support outreach, recruitment, and community engagement activities.
  • Contribute to a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative campus culture.
Education & Experience
  • Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution
  • Professional active, unencumbered RN license in Washington State
  • Current CPR certification
  • Current immunizations
  • At least three (3) years of recent nursing clinical experience
  • Experience precepting nursing students
Knowledge of
  • Current applicable developments, research, and trends in the nursing
  • Pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum care
  • Laws, regulations, and best practice in the field
  • Technology and equipment used in the field
  • Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, SharePoint, Outlook and Teams
  • Learning management systems and other appropriate instructional technology(ex. ctcLink, Canvas, Navigate 360, etc.)
