Compensation: $51,650 - $88,000

The Junior High Science Teacher is responsible for all organization, teaching, and supervision within the area of their assigned responsibility. Assist the principal with informed and necessary information of school activities, student progression, and the condition of the classroom. Participate as an active member of the school staff and pertinent parent organizations and adhere fully to the stated purposes, standards, policies and procedures of CRISTA Ministries and King’s Schools.

• Model a committed Christian faith and personal relationship with Jesus and minister to the spiritual needs of students and our school community through all activities undertaken in the Teacher’s role.
• Educate students in a manner consistent with, and reflective of, the Christian tenets of the Statement of Faith and the CCC, including the incorporation of these shared Christian religious beliefs and conduct into all student curricula.
• Teach a biblical worldview that is integrated into all curriculum and activities.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the Bible and application of a biblical worldview to subject matter and teacher’s conduct as a minister in our school community.
• Through godly leadership, engage and inspire the academic, spiritual and emotional growth of students.
• Be ready and available to lead staff devotionals and staff prayer.

• Model a personal and growing Christian faith that aligns with CRISTA’s Statement of Faith and Christian Community Commitment (CCC).
• Contribute to the spiritual, intellectual, social, and physical welfare of the students.
• Minister to the spiritual needs of students and develop a vibrant Christian faith community.
• Lead classes in daily prayer.
• Instruct and be available to lead and support students’ spiritual formation.
• Oversee and support chapel attendance and students’ spiritual engagement at chapel.

• Teach prescribed Physical Science curriculum and effectively use texts and resource materials provided.
• Relate all teaching to God's truth and share Christ worldwide.
• Encourage salvation and personal growth of each student by maintaining a Christ-like classroom learning environment and providing feedback and support focused on faith and love.
• Guide, evaluate, and encourage students to improve their study methods and work habits.
• Counsel and advise students on academic, personal, spiritual and vocational concerns.

• Plan work on an annual, quarterly, monthly, weekly and daily basis, and work according to plan.
• Fulfill contractual agreement, which includes orientation week and school opening and closing duties.
• Submit weekly assignment sheets and yearly course plans as determined by the principal.
• Experiment with new content, methods, and materials and file the best of these for future use.
• Update and maintain the online school gradebook and homework website on a consistent basis.
• Confer immediately with students, parents and the principal concerning the progress and/or problems of each student and provide written reports.
• Turn in reports to the office and cumulative files of incidents and observations, counseling sessions, etc., as they occur.
• Maintain a neat, attractive and well-ventilated classroom and adjust lighting as needed.
• Accurately keep attendance and academic records and submit these to the office at the scheduled times.

• Participate in and support the testing program as conducted by the school counselor.
• Consider and adopt special programs (chapels, field trips, guest speakers, and social events), using student initiative as much as possible.
• Maintain bulletin boards and displays that stimulate academic, spiritual and social growth.
