Northwest Region Office in Shoreline, WA. Salary includes 5% premium pay for King County location and 7.5% assignment pay for required licensure. Must live within commutable distance from duty station.

Schedule- Eligible for telework and flexible schedule options.
- Minimum of three days per week required in office, including in-person meetings.

About the RoleSenior‑level licensed hydrogeologist to provide technical expertise and project management for complex contaminated site cleanups under the Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA). Apply advanced geological, hydrogeological, fate and transport, and engineering principles to drive site characterization, remedial investigation, feasibility evaluation, and remediation. Exercise professional judgment, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with TCP management, potentially liable person consultants, other agencies, and stakeholders.
Responsibilities- Provide technical oversight for assigned MTCA‑contaminated sites, ensuring sound scientific and engineering practice.
- Manage cleanup projects, including schedules, milestones, and coordination with consultants and external contractors.
- Review and approve technical documents such as work plans, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, cleanup action plans, and remedial designs.
- Conduct field visits to observe site activities and provide guidance on investigation, sampling, and remediation.
- Support colleagues with peer reviews, guidance, and promote technical excellence and uniformity.
- Prepare written communications—emails, letters, memos, technical reports, summaries—and represent projects with agencies, stakeholders, and the public.
- Procure and manage external contracts for technical support per agency policies.
- Maintain project and site records in agency systems, ensuring accurate data management and supporting reporting and compliance.
- Possession of a valid Washington State Hydrogeologist Specialty license.
- At least nine years of professional experience and/or education equivalent to the following: 9 years experience; 8 years experience + 30–59 semester credits (or 45–89 quarter credits); 7 years + 60–89 semester credits (Associate’s degree); 6 years + 90–119 semester credits; 5 years + Bachelor’s degree; 3 years + Master’s degree; 2 years + Ph.D.
- Experience as a hydrogeologist, hydrologist, geologist, or closely allied profession.
- Education involving a major study in hydrogeology, hydrology, geology, or a closely allied field.
- Effective technical writing, verbal communication, project management, and meeting facilitation skills.
- Experience with mixed‑media sampling, laboratory analytical methods, and environmental data analysis.
- Critical‑thinking skills to analyze complex technical information, evaluate data gaps and quality, apply professional judgment, and develop defensible solutions.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must obtain a valid Washington State Hydrogeologist specialty license within six months of hiring.
