Job Overview

VCA Shoreline Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center is hiring a full‑time Technician Assistant to join our team. We need a positive, energetic individual who enjoys learning and works well in a team.

About the Facility

VCA Shoreline is a state‑of‑the‑art medical facility that provides specialty, critical care, and emergency services exclusively for dogs and cats. Located in Shelton, the veterinary specialists, technicians, and support staff are trained to the highest standards, ensuring the best preventive and healing care for patients.

Schedule & Compensation

Schedule:

Full time – Sunday through Tuesday;
Wednesday through Saturday.

Compensation: $18.00 – $19.00 per hour, based on skill set and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Restrain animals for the doctor and technician.
  • Administer medications under the supervision of the technician.
  • Assist with obtaining lab samples and run in‑house lab tests (including troubleshooting the machines).
  • Clean kennels, replace bedding, and offer food and water to hospitalized patients under technician supervision.
  • Walk hospitalized patients under technician supervision.
  • Assist with sedated or anesthetized procedures as needed (set up, break down, clean, move patients in and out of the OR).
  • Perform general cleaning duties inside and outside the hospital, including laundry, sweeping and mopping, restocking medical supplies, and maintaining medical equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
