We are hiring a Journey-level Electrician. You will be a member of the Maintenance and Operations Division (MOD) team responsible for the electrical systems at the Fircrest School in Shoreline! You will perform skilled installation, maintenance, and repair work on electrical equipment and systems. You'll have a stable, fixed day shift schedule of consistent work, Monday – Friday with weekends off.

A flexible schedule is possible after training period is completed. You'll work with an interesting blend of old and new technology, working on a variety of equipment. Pay

King County employees receive 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary and are eligible to receive a free ORCA card for transportation use.

On-site opportunities performed at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.

Some of what you'll do:
  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
  • Install, inspect, maintain, and repair wiring/cables, connections, distribution/instrument panels,and circuits
  • Install, adjust, inspect, and maintain electric motors and equipment.
  • Replace bearings and motor or generator parts, and perform emergency generator testing.
  • Operate equipment and machines.
  • Contact vendors and suppliers concerning equipment, materials, and parts.
We’re looking for someone with:

Current Washington State EL01 license and one year of experience as a journey-level certified electrician.

Desired
  • Experience in low voltage.
  • Knowledge of standard practices, methods, materials, tools, and equipment of the electrical trade; electrical codes; and safety precautions.
  • Ability to work from blueprints, plans, and sketches.
  • Ability to estimate materials and time needed to complete jobs.
