Driver Manager; Night Shift

Full job description

Responsible for the night shift management of 12-15 company drivers. The driver manager (DM) is a key leadership position that oversees the night to night execution of his/her assigned driver fleet. The DM is accountable for the performance of their drivers in the areas of service, safety, utilization, and retention. The DM will focus on maintaining positive employee relationships.

• Accountable for the safety and regulatory performance of their drivers and implementation and execution of corrective actions plans for all drivers below goal
• Responsible for problem resolution with assigned drivers
• Responsible for acting as a liaison with company mechanics for breakdowns
• Accountable for driver retention
• Responsible for driver execution of assigned work
• Enforces understanding and compliance with all Company policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct
• Contributes to an atmosphere of trust and teamwork that values contributions of all employees in support of a high performance culture
• Works until driver issues are resolved for the day and/or a proper hand off has been made

• Strong leadership skills
• Light Maintenance Experience is a plus (adding oil to vehicles, etc)
• Yard Management Experience is a plus
• Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills and change management
• Must be a self-starter and highly motivated individual
