Job Description
Oak Hill Montessori Community School is seeking a Physical Education Teacher who possesses the skills and experience to teach in a Montessori setting and the abilities necessary to implement our school's Mission. The Physical Education Teacher is responsible for creating learning goals for children that support physical education and development for Preschool through Grade 8.

This is a part-time, salaried, exempt position, with typical on-site between the hours of 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, M-F, throughout the 10 month school year. The Physical Education Teacher's responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Deliver engaging K-8 physical education lessons on motor skills, fitness, individual/team sports, and health
- Monitor student progress, evaluate physical attributes, and provide feedback on fitness goals.
- Create a safe, inclusive environment (including adaptive strategies for diverse needs) and manage classroom behavior.
- Maintain, inventory, and set up PE equipment and, often, indoor/outdoor facilities.
- Work with staff and parents to support student growth, and often participate in school-wide duties.
- Create opportunities for students to experience a variety of sports and activities in PE
- Help teach students about healthy choices and lifestyles
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure student success
- Provide a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Supervising practical PE lessons, including both indoor and outdoor classes
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or a related field.
- Valid Minnesota Teaching License in Physical Education (often covering K-12 or specifically K-8).
- Previous experience teaching PE, particularly at the elementary or middle school level.
Desired
Qualifications:
- Complete a state-approved teacher preparation program
- Master's degree in Physical Education, Health Education, or a related field
